Words, weights and wood...

The galleries this week come from a range of curricular areas. Year 5 students have produced poetry based on their experiences of starting life at GVC just three weeks ago.  The poems are going to be entered into a completion judged by the Gazette, and looking at the entries, this will be a tough task!  There are also photos taken from Year 6 Design Technology lessons. The specialist teaching, resources and purpose built workshops ensure that pupils can undertake sophisticated projects such as structural engineering.

In Year 7 the pictures are from a Gymnastics lesson and Year 8 showcase - a rather messy looking lesson on Digestion!

Congratulations to HRH Queen Elizabeth II

All of the staff and pupils at Gamlingay Village College would like to congratulate Queen Elizabeth II on 23,226 days as our Queen.  She will have reigned for 63 years and seven months, or 23,226 days, 16 hours and approximately 30 minutes at about 17:30 on 09/09/2015.

Term starts with a bang at GVC!

Pupils made a great start to the new school year and the first day saw an incredible range of learning activities.

In addition to an impressive whole school singing display in assembly, the children were engaged in everything from challenging mental calculations (78 X 236 anyone?) to recreating conditions in medieval Africa to drawing their own shoes!

The photographs below are from a Science lesson on chemical reactions and a highly active Drama lesson.

Thank you to all  parents and carers who ensured that the children were so well prepared for the new term and to the pupils themselves who made such a positive first impression.
