2017.05.12: Letter from the Headteacher

Dear Parents & Carers

SATS 2017
A huge thank you to the entire school community for the support and care shown to all of our Year 6 pupils as they have completed their SAT examinations this week.

I would especially like to commend the Year 6 pupils themselves whose conduct was positive, calm and determined.  The wait now begins for the results, which will be released to parents and pupils by the 11th July 2017.  We are of course hoping for great things, but regardless of the outcomes, every pupil deserves great credit for all of their hard work, positivity and focus in their academic studies.  Well done!

I would also like to thank the staff for ensuring the smooth running of the week – particularly Mrs Evans who oversees the complex administrative and practical processes required.
Finally, a huge thank you to our parents and carers.  Your children were a great credit to you and to the school.  All pupils arrived on time, well prepared and in a mind set to live our motto of lots of purpose, but no pressure.  Thank you.

Trip to Gamlingay Woods

SATS week would not be complete without the traditional Friday trip to the woods.  The adventure was greatly enjoyed by all and photographs can be found on the website.

Work Experience
We have a former GVC student with us on work experience from Stratton Upper School until 19th May.  She is attached to Mrs Phillips and is largely working within the PE department.  Children in all year groups have benefitted from having a student with added experience, who can also fondly remember the systems and arrangements at GVC.
